Wow! I will be running my first 5k in two weeks! I can’t believe how swiftly time has passed me by. Week five of training and I feel AMAZING and my body is really starting to appreciate the work I’ve been putting in. I must admit, the biggest transformation has taken place in my mind. Those who have read You Belong Part 1 will be glad to know that my declaration of being a runner is truly a reality now.
Week one of training was solely about me breaking down mental barriers (Start Quick), learning to finish strong, and embracing my identity as a runner (You Belong). I had no idea that by week five I would be training others to do the same. A process that once began with joining a friend in a 5k and improving my self-image has become more about others than it is about me. I’ve left the training grounds and began doing the work for others. Although I still have challenges in regards to not wanting to run every day, I find that it is much easier to push beyond myself because my focus is now on the people who look to me for motivation. What’s funny about it all is that I’m finding motivation through my dedication to others.
So my question to you is, what are you waiting on? What is it that you would like to do but can’t find the courage to do the work? What’s on the bucket list in your mind that you are too afraid to write down? What is holding you back from being as awesome as God has created you to be? Is it fear? Doubt? Confusion?
Whatever it is, I want to challenge you to think beyond yourself. There are groups of hundreds, millions, or maybe even billions of people waiting for you to do the work.
I can’t promise you that the process will be easy or quick, but what I can promise is if you do it God’s way, you will win. You will enter a peace that passes all understanding and the joy of the Lord will began to spring up like rivers of living water in your life.
Father I thank you that you are so faithful and true. I thank you for equipping me all the tools I need to do and be all you have called me to be and do. I take not for granted the people that will cross my path and I am committed to given my supply to those who are in need of it. In Jesus name, Amen!
God’s daughter. His wife. Their mother. Your friend.
